TALKIE FOR ANDROID

TALKIE in your pocket. Even with the screen off.

Your servers, chat rooms and voice rooms as an app. A voice room keeps going when you lock your phone, on the loudspeaker or on your headset.

What the app adds

🔒

Voice with the screen locked

Lock your phone or switch apps: the voice room goes on. The room shows in your notifications, with Mute and Leave right there.

🎧

Loudspeaker or headset

The sound comes from the loudspeaker, and moves to your headset (wired, USB-C or Bluetooth) the moment you connect it, microphone included, also in the middle of a talk.

🔔

Notices for new messages

New messages, friend requests and invites show as notifications while TALKIE is not in front. Invite links open straight in the app. New versions install themselves, never during a call.

Installing it

  1. Download the app with the button above, on your phone.
  2. Open the file. Android asks whether your browser may install apps: allow it for this one time. You can switch it off again afterwards.
  3. Open TALKIE and sign in with your SPKR HQ account. Allow the microphone when you join a voice room, and notifications when it asks.

Android warns about apps that do not come from Google Play; TALKIE is not in the Play Store yet. The app only opens hq.sp3akr.com, asks only for the microphone, notifications and Nearby devices (so a Bluetooth headset works), and updates itself: allow TALKIE to install apps once when it asks, and new versions arrive on their own. Want to be sure you have the real file? Compare its SHA-256 with the one above.

iPhone? Use the TALKIE web app for phones: pinned to your home screen, with notices for new messages and the screen kept on in a voice room.
